Eleonora Guimaraes
My name is Eleonora
Guimaraes. I graduated from Level I of the Pfrimmer
Certification Program in November 2000, in San Rafael,
California. I would like to share some of the successes
I was able to achieve in this first year of practice,
to encourage more students to learn this wonderful technique
that can help change the lives of your clients and make
your professional life more exciting than you could possibly
imagine.
The
most dramatic story is of a client who became paralyzed
in the spring of ‘98 in a automobile accident. I
started giving him Jin Shin Jyutsu treatments - a
very gentle form of acupressure originated in Japan
- the summer of
‘99 and that helped him a lot in relieving
pain, headaches, spasms, and the tremendous emotional
and psychological stress of the condition he found
himself in. As soon as I finished the Pfrimmer
Level I training, we decided to work exclusively
with it to see what would happen.
Now,
November 2001, about eleven months into our treatment
plan, this man has recovered almost all feeling in
his legs and enough movement to use only crutches
when he is at home. I was delighted to learn
during our session last month that he was able to
go for a “stroll” at the local mall taking
only the crutches! Since he keeps improving
we are hopeful he will recover enough to have a life
without restrictions. I have also used the
Pfrimmer technique with clients who have their movement
impaired form stroke, Guillian-Barre syndrome and
aneurysm with very good success.
It is tremendously rewarding to be met with
a smile and an
“I’m walking better!” when I
see them.
I
have been able to help two clients who were suffering
from such acute sciatic pain that every movement
brought tears to their eyes. And a client with
residual pain from a bone graft that kept her from
sleeping a full night for several months. The
Pfrimmer technique seems to be not only very effective,
but it works quite fast in producing results. All
the other clients I see that only have aches and
pains caused by stress or overuse of muscles; a Pfrimmer
session is a delight, bringing a feeling of aliveness,
of
“a glowing vibration” as one
of them describes it.
It
is amazing to be part of such processes of transformation,
and to be able to help so much, considering that
I’m just beginning my career as a Pfrimmer
therapist.
